Utien Pack was invited to participate in a seminar on agricultural product packaging and labeling during a national agricultural product supply and demand matchmaking event held in Qingdao, China, from September 12 to 14, 2026. Organized by the Agricultural Product Quality and Safety Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.

The event brought together participants from across the agricultural supply chain to explore opportunities for connecting quality products with broader markets. Drawing on its experience in packaging machinery development and project implementation, Utien Pack shared practical approaches to product preservation, packaging selection, labeling integration, and reliable production.

For agricultural producers, reaching more customers requires packaging that protects product quality throughout storage, transportation, distribution, and retail display. Utien Pack supports this process with customized equipment and packaging solutions designed around the characteristics of each product and the demands of daily production.

Supporting Freshness Across a Wider Distribution Network

As agricultural businesses expand into new regions and sales channels, maintaining product quality becomes increasingly important. Longer transportation routes and additional distribution stages can reduce the time available for retail sales, especially for fresh meat, seafood, fruits, and vegetables.

Effective packaging development starts with an understanding of the complete distribution process. Transportation time, storage temperature, retail presentation, and consumer handling all influence the choice of packaging materials and processes.

Utien Pack helps customers evaluate these factors through product sample testing, material trials, and process adjustment. Packaging methods are selected according to the product’s condition, preservation requirements, and intended sales channels.

Together with appropriate hygiene controls and cold chain management, suitable packaging can help maintain quality and extend shelf life. This gives producers greater flexibility when planning regional distribution, retail supply, and market expansion.

Matching Packaging Technology to Product Requirements

Agricultural products vary considerably in shape, texture, moisture content, and handling requirements. Some need a protective tray to maintain their appearance. Others benefit from close film contact, reduced air inside the package, or a convenient resealable opening.

Utien Pack offers thermoforming packaging machines and tray sealers with configurations for different applications. Available solutions include shrink packaging, vacuum packaging, modified atmosphere packaging, vacuum skin packaging, and thermoforming zipper packaging. Complete packaging line integration can also be considered according to project requirements.

Vacuum packaging removes air before sealing and is suitable for products that can tolerate the resulting package compression. Modified atmosphere packaging replaces the air inside the package with a selected gas mixture suited to the product. Vacuum skin packaging closely conforms the film to the product, helping secure its position and improve presentation. Zipper packaging provides a convenient closure for products intended for repeated use after opening.

Equipment selection also depends on production conditions. For businesses handling large volumes, continuous operation and coordination with upstream and downstream equipment are priorities. Compact thermoforming machines and semi automatic tray sealers provide options for smaller batches, product trials, and production involving multiple product types.

By considering output, available space, changeover requirements, and packaging materials together, Utien Pack helps customers develop solutions that fit their operations.

Customized Deep Forming for Musang King Durian

Musang King durian demonstrates how a distinctive agricultural product can require a specialized packaging approach. Its large size and irregular shape create challenges for forming depth, package structure, odor containment, and protection during transportation.

For this application, Utien Pack developed a customized thermoforming solution with a combined forming depth of 200 mm across the top and bottom films. This provides the space needed to accommodate the product while requiring careful control of material distribution and sealing performance.

The solution combines film and paperboard, with tooling, materials, and forming parameters developed together. Vacuum or modified atmosphere packaging can be selected according to the product’s condition and preservation objectives.

This coordinated approach addresses product accommodation, odor containment, transportation protection, and brand presentation within a single packaging concept. It also illustrates how packaging development can support other valuable agricultural products with unusual dimensions or demanding distribution requirements.

Connecting Product Protection with Clear Labeling

Packaging also provides a surface for communicating product value. Once agricultural products leave their place of origin, consumers rely on package information to understand where they come from, what makes them distinctive, and how they should be stored and prepared.

Clear labeling supports purchasing decisions and proper product handling. It also helps distributors and retailers manage receiving, inventory, and traceability information.

According to project requirements, Utien Pack can integrate coding, labeling, and inspection equipment into the packaging line. Connecting these functions helps customers coordinate package production with the application and checking of product information.

For agricultural brands entering new markets, consistent packaging and clear labeling can improve recognition while supporting more organized distribution.

Turning Packaging Development into Reliable Production

A successful packaging sample is the starting point for a production solution. Customers also need equipment that operates consistently, supports efficient product changeovers, and allows convenient cleaning and maintenance.

Utien Pack considers mechanical structure, operating stability, and service access throughout equipment development. Recipe management helps operators select established settings for different products, while line integration supports coordination between packaging and related production stages.

The company also provides support throughout the equipment life cycle, from initial consultation and packaging trials to Factory Acceptance Testing, installation, commissioning, and ongoing service. This approach helps customers move from an approved packaging concept to dependable daily production, with attention to downtime, maintenance effort, and operating costs over time.

Participation in the event organized by the Agricultural Product Quality and Safety Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs provided Utien Pack with an opportunity to exchange practical experience and better understand the needs of agricultural producers.

Utien Pack will continue developing customized packaging equipment and processes that help protect agricultural products, strengthen brand presentation, and support access to domestic and international markets.
