In August 2026, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has officially approved and issued JB/T 15781-2026 Food Vacuum Skin Packaging Machine, a machinery industry standard drafted with the leadership and technical expertise of Utien Pack. The standard establishes a unified technical basis for the design, manufacture, inspection, acceptance, application, packaging, transportation, and storage of food vacuum skin packaging machines.
Its publication represents an important step for the development of vacuum skin packaging equipment in China. Demand for vacuum skin packaging continues to rise in fresh meat, seafood, cooked food, ready meals, cheese, bakery products, and pet food. The format closely conforms the skin film to the product and its base, helping hold the product in position, control purge movement, protect its appearance, and create a clear three dimensional display. When combined with suitable materials, reliable sealing, and a controlled cold chain, it can also support longer product freshness and more stable distribution.
However, rapid market growth has also created practical challenges. Machine configurations, operating parameters, skin forming performance, and quality evaluation methods have varied among suppliers. Without a unified technical reference, food processors may find it difficult to compare equipment, confirm acceptance requirements, control package quality, or plan maintenance.
JB/T 15781-2026 responds to these issues with a more complete and consistent framework. It defines machine models and product classifications, basic operating parameters, standard working conditions, technical requirements, and test methods for the complete machine.
